Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Workshop Electrician to carry out repairs and maintenance on cranes and associated equipment before they go on hire. This role is critical in ensuring all machinery is fully operational and compliant with our Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on cranes and related equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet industry safety and compliance standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using schematics and technical drawings.
  • Perform control panel inspections, testing, and certification of electrical installations.
  • Work efficiently within a team and independently, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including working at height when required.

Individual Requirements

Essential:

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations.
  • Experience in working with control panels.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for control wiring.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working at height safely.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
